Vanity Fair Italia Feature: Reflections on Technology, Ritual, and Representation
Vanity Fair Italia Feature: Reflections on Technology, Ritual, and Representation
about 3 days ago

My latest feature in Vanity Fair Italia pairs my photographic work with a powerful essay by Giacomo Papi, exploring how our relationship with technology mirrors age-old rituals and anxieties. From dopamine-driven screen time to cultural shifts in presence and attention, this piece invites deeper reflection on the digital age. Special thanks to Julie Grahame, Rick Wester Fine Art, and Sveva Manfredi Zavaglia, this is a milestone I’m proud to share.

I’m thrilled to share that Angie and I have started Pecan Print House, a family-run business inspired by my artistic practice and our family’s needs. We’ve created 2025-2026 Academic Continuous Calendars and Yearly Continuous Calendars to help families and students stay organized without constantly turning to their phones.

Each calendar is thoughtfully designed with signature gradient colors, printed on premium matte paper that feels amazing to write on. They’re functional, stylish, and large enough to actually use—perfect for homes, dorms, and offices.

As we head into graduation season, these calendars make incredible Class of 2025 gifts or dorm essentials for new college students. Find them in our Etsy shop at www.pecanprinthouse.com, and if you have ideas for local or national vendors, we’d love to hear from you!

Vanity Fair Italia Feature: Reflections on Technology, Ritual, and Representation

May 09, 2025 in Publication

I’m thrilled to share that my work is featured in the latest issue of Vanity Fair Italia, alongside a compelling essay by the brilliant writer Giacomo Papi. His words dive deep into the moment we’re all living through. A moment that is defined by our entanglement with devices, the search for dopamine hits, and the shifting norms around attention and presence. He draws fascinating parallels between our digital rituals and historical patterns of anxiety and reverence, even touching on the spiritual dimensions of technological evolution. It’s a piece that truly unpacks our times with both accessibility and depth, and I encourage you to give it a read if you can.

To my friends and followers in Italy: please pick up a copy!

A heartfelt thank you to Julie Grahame, my incredible agent, for securing this opportunity and for always presenting my work with such care and clarity. Deep thanks also to Rick Wester Fine Art for your continued dedication to placing my prints in thoughtful, meaningful collections.

Special thanks to Sveva Manfredi Zavaglia who rushed out to get a copy of the publication and is currently working with me on several exciting European exhibitions, more on that soon!

This feature is a meaningful milestone, and I’m honored to be part of a conversation that bridges image, word, and culture in such an impactful way.
